For Every Child A Forever Family

Have you heard of Embraced by Grace Adoption Agency?

I know those who are close to me are well aware of my passion for Life and Adoption.

I want you to know that I feel very blessed to work at a Christian adoption agency. The hearts of each person involved is for orphans, birth moms and families.

Yesterday at Embraced by Grace, we received sad news. We were informed that one of the children we were advocating for is no longer with us. We were not aware that she battled diabetes. Complications set in and her young body gave up.

This hits us so hard as we deeply want each child to know the love and care of parents, of their own family. She was so close to the possibilty of knowing her forever family! But she didn’t make it.

So why would I even share this with you?

Because the need for godly, loving families is great! Greater than you or I can even imagine!

Whether a child gets the love and care needed to thrive and survive cannot always be determined, but I can surely do something to help. We can ALL do something.

Today, please join me in praying for the children and caregivers who knew this little girl.

Pray for those who are frightened and feel alone.

We have an unlimited amount of love to give. Give your love, your prayers, your financial help, your time, your voice to find Forever Families for these precious children.

Water Your Own Grass

I read a blog this morning by someone I know and care for about crossing the line. It brought up a lot of feelings. Then I heard a message by Dennis Rainey on Z88.3 Radio about how wives should know they are secure, loved.

“So what,” you may be thinking.

Love between a man and woman is sacred.

Even Christians, or anyone out there who may think they have willpower made of kryptonite, are still flesh and blood. We need to know there is someone in our lives who loves us more than others, protects us, values us, and would never cause us harm or heartache.

If you have been joined with someone, cherish that person. Let them know every day that they are loved by you. Never think life could be better with someone else. Don’t give in to that temptation.

Remember, the grass is greener on the side it’s watered. Wash your Bride daily in the Word, in love, in encouragement. Let her know you are amazed by her beauty. Nurture the love that is sacred!

And, because I sometimes get hit with men saying “What about us?”

Love your wife as Christ loves the church, so much that He gave His life for us.

Men are the protectors, the ones called to tend to their Precious Garden of Love.

Love her dearly, faithfully, and see if you get results you hope to have and more.

Always water your own grass, joyfully stay on your side of the fence and nurture your own Love with every part of your being.

Forgive me, Lord, for anything I’ve spoken other than blessings towards anyone, and put a guard on my mouth and mind.

Every day I hear and read so much that reminds me of the power of words.

A word spoken to or about someone who has wounded or offended, to a family member, even towards a precious child.

Let’s always be aware of the words we choose to use, the names we call others, particularly children.

On their worst days, children are a blessing from the Lord! On your worst day, you are a blessing! Your life is a blessing! You are a Difference Maker!

We must be aware of the power of the spoken word. We speak into existence either good or bad.

We either bless or we curse with our words. Let’s choose to bless!

May you feel loved and blessed, and share that with others as you go about your day today!

And the World Is Still Spinning ‘Round

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes. Yes, Life is full of changes and yet the world doesn’t stop. It’s spinning ’round.

I hope in this blog to encourage and cause others to reflect.

I have gone through major changes over the last several years. Changes which completely took me by surprise and caused the axis of my life to tilt even more.

To live life to the fullest means you will face changes. As scary as it may be to take that step of faith or to be thrust into the unknown, to not do so would cause complacency and often results in a boring life. Life’s too short to be anything but an exciting adventure!

Welcome the changes! Yes, I’m a great one to say this to anyone. While appearing collected on the exterior, I’ve gone through a flood of rough emotions! I’m so thankful for family and friends, for prayers that turn to shouts, tears, and hallelujahs, often in the same setting, for music and quotes, for long drives in my car, and for The Beach!

Where is God in all this? He has been and is right there in the midst, in my midst, from Beginning to End.

In the depth of heartbreak, fear, sorrow, I have found I may desire and try to run from my circumstances, but I never want to run from the One who truly gives me Unconditional Love.

Many may not understand nor have patience for what you are going through, but the Lord is always there.

My heart aches for those who, while running from their situation, run from Him. He is the only One who will not forsake us, will never leave us.

Run to Him, not from Him! His arms are always open to His Beloved. And Yes, the World Is Still Spinning ‘Round, and He Still Loves Me (and You)!

The Spirit of Adoption

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” ~ Romans 8:14-15

The Book of Romans Chapter 8 provides an explanation of who we are in Christ. The Apostle Paul begins the chapter with “no condemnation,” and ends with “no separation” for those who are in Christ. Through the selfless love of God, we experience an adoption that not only washes us clean of our sins, sets us up as joint heirs with Christ, and frees us from the bondage of fear, but it also seals us to God with a loving trust that allows us in boldness to cry out “Abba! Father!” The Romans to whom Paul wrote understood the process of legal adoption, entitling the adopted heir to become one with the adopter. In Roman practice this assurance of adoption of God created an impression of a oneness with the Heavenly Father. As an adoptive mother, I have been blessed with the ongoing joy which adoption offers. When we seek to welcome a child into our homes and hearts, we receive a picture of the perfect Father who seeks to welcome condemned orphans with no hope into his home and heart to become his rightful children. With adoption comes an assurance that you are not a mistake. Though there are unplanned pregnancies, there are no unplanned adoptions. We have been sought, rescued from hopelessness and abandonment, and adopted at a great price into God’s family. We are secure in a perfect love that casts out all fear.Who shall separate us from this love? Can trials, or distress, or persecution? Can famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Rom 8:37-39). You have the right through adoption to cry out, “Abba! Father!” with the knowledge that he is there for you.

If the weight of your circumstances is taking your focus off that which you have received from God through Christ Jesus, take some time to reflect on His word and remember that you are chosen, loved, and valued by the God of Creation. Let us never forget that everyone has a story that has brought them to where they are today. May we always be His hands and love in this world.
